Pinhole Project: Matchbox Camera | Brazil 2010
This pinhole camera traveled everywhere with me through Rio, Salvador and Chapada Diamantina, making images during a 4 1/2 month stay in Brazil. I built it on a rainy afternoon in Rio from a matchbox (caixa de fósforos) using 35mm film.

Pinhole Project: The Pelourinho | Brazil 2010
The Pelourinho through the second floor window of the Jorge Amado museum. Called the Pelo for short, it is the historic centre of Salvador and gets its name from the whipping post that stood in its central square. During the Portuguese colonial period, African slaves were brought to the whipping post for punishment. Photographed with a 35mm matchbox pinhole camera.
